Kristin Vikjord Paternotte

Clinical Psychologist, Writer, Yoga & Mindfulness Facilitator

“Mothers of our generations can benefit deeply from thematising all aspects of motherhood, and in particular the impact it has on our physical and mental health, and learn and support each other”

Kristin deeply cares for how it is to be a human, the existential process of living this embodied life, with its ups and downs. As clinical psychologist, she has taken a particular interest in how to empower mental health and emotional wellbeing, especially in difficult times. Because of this, she has curated multiple platforms where people can come to practice self-care and get to know themselves better through wisdom teachings. The Delight Yoga Schools, and the Arctic Yoga Conference are examples of such platforms.

She hopes people work with her because they find she can contribute with something of meaning, which in turn can help elevate and inspire others to live this beautiful life fully, and to lead from a place of integration and courage.

Kristin is a mother of 2 sons: Maxwell (7 years old) and Christopher (almost 5 years old). She loves to be a Sister of Motherheart because she deeply cares about supporting fellow mothers, and believes our society puts a pressure on us, which requires fellowship and community. She believes mothers of our generations can benefit deeply from thematising all aspects of motherhood, and in particular the impact it has on our physical and mental health, and learn and support each other. Our society requires a new paradigm of motherhood!

Her advice to others in times of turmoil would be: lean to loved ones, or people with more experience or seniority. She believes asking for support or help is a golden key. If she could share some wisdom with her younger self it would be: keep doing what you’re doing, hurry slowly, and enjoy the ride.
